Creating Safer Classrooms

Staff and students work more effectively and have more positive experiences when they feel safe and valid in their environments. With a strong focus on practical strategies, this training will empower education staff to create actively accepting and inclusive workplaces and classrooms.

Key learning outcomes:

  • Gain a better understanding of the experiences of LGBTIQA+ people and develop skills that will help you become a better ally

  • Learn the most up to date and affirming language to use within your school

  • Learn practical strategies to help gender diverse students feel seen and accepted

  • Gain skills to help you diversify the content that you deliver in your classrooms

  • Learn to recognise and call out unacceptable remarks and behaviours

 

Participants will receive a certificate of completion and reference sheet summarising the points covered.
